Humble Beginnings

ImpactX Academy started in September 2016, where the Founder (Johnson Chng) formed the academy in Willetton Basketball Stadium in Perth, Western Australia. What started as a regular training class for 13 boys aged 10 to 11 years old for 10 weeks, subsequently grew to an academy that hosted trainings for 120 boys and girls aged 4 to 20 years old.

ImpactX Academy not only provides basketball training services – it also equips Leadership & Team Building skills to their players. Johnson, together with his team of coaches applies leadership frameworks from John Maxwell Team and John R Wooden Course – to up level the thinking and execution of the players under training, both on and off the court. Coach Johnson always emphasized the concept of Student Athletes (adopted from the film, Coach Carter).
